Saudi Arabia announces new rules for holders of Umrah visas

According to a directive distributed by Saudi aviation authorities, the country has issued a new travel advise that restricts entrance for holders of Umrah visas after the fifteenth day of the Islamic month of Shawwal.

All airlines operating in and out of the Kingdom are instructed to rigorously adhere to the new regulation by the revised guidance, which was published on Sunday.

Saudi Civil Aviation officials cautioned that failure to do so could lead to legal action against the traveler and the carrier.
According to the advise, travelers with Umrah visas are not allowed to board planes to Saudi Arabia after 15 Shawwal in each Islamic calendar year.
According to reports, this action is intended to control the pilgrimage flow and guarantee peaceful preparations before the Hajj season.

According to the Saudi aviation notice, “airlines must not issue boarding passes to Umrah visa holders attempting to travel after this date.” “Saudi Civil Aviation Law will be used to address violations.”

The decision underscores the Kingdom’s efforts to control operational load across its major airports during peak months and expedite religious tourism.

Airlines have been told to update their systems and let travel agencies know about the modifications. According to Saudi officials, the decision would be revised every year in light of seasonal planning and operational needs.
