Lahore will soon get three new underpasses

On July 17, Lahore’s Caretaker Chief Minister (CM) Punjab told the media that work on three new underpasses was going to start.

CM Mohsin Naqvi inspected the Akbar Chowk overpass project in Lahore. Speaking to the media, Naqvi stated that the Ravi River does not present any water hazards and that the amount of water that overflows is being watched.

According to him, while efforts are being made for peace in the Kacha region, tight security arrangements are being prepared in conjunction with Muharram.

According to Naqvi, three new underpasses will be built, and Walton Road will shortly begin to be rebuilt, which will help with the area’s congestion.

Surveillance Upgrade

As part of the Safe City Project for Lahore, a Chinese business recently promised to activate 2,000 new CCTV cameras on August 14, 2023, on Independence Day on August 14, 2023.

This project seeks to make Lahore safer by removing blind spots from the citywide CCTV system. The cameras will also have facial recognition software, the official said.

The corporation has imported cameras, power batteries, LED displays, and other technical components for camera installation and is waiting for them to be deployed.
