Eid Milad-un-Nabi is being observed today nationwide with great religious fervor, as both President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif encourage the nation and the Muslim Ummah to follow the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) as a guiding principle to address current challenges.
In their separate messages on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Sallalaho Aleyhe Wallyhe Wassalam), both leaders extended warm congratulations to the nation on the blessed day of the 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal.
The President emphasized that the life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) offers eternal guidance for humanity.
Asif Ali Zardari highlighted the importance of spreading the Prophet’s (SAWW) message of love and compassion for all people.
He further noted that, in a time when the world faces division and oppression, it is crucial to promote the values of love, tolerance, and human rights embodied by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
He treated all people with respect and dignity, regardless of their faith. Zardari stressed the need to foster global brotherhood, justice, and love in this spirit.
Zardari stated that the Prophet (PBUH) will always be a source of guidance and that the 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal reminds us of the transformative message that brought light into darkness.
He emphasized that the Prophet (PBUH) considered those who helped others as the best among humanity.
On this special occasion, Zardari encouraged spreading the Prophet’s (PBUH) message of love and compassion. He highlighted the Prophet’s (PBUH) dedication to humanity, caring for orphans, supporting the poor, and tending to the sick.
The president urged people to commit the day to the welfare of humanity and apply the Prophet’s (PBUH) teachings to daily life. He also prayed for peace and prosperity in Pakistan and asked for strength to follow the Prophet’s (PBUH) guidance.
In his message, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif described the life, character, and conduct of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) as a guiding light for all of humanity.
Shehbaz Sharif also called for remembering the oppressed people of Palestine and Kashmir, who are enduring tyranny and suffering.
The day began with a 31-gun salute in the federal capital, while provincial capitals marked the occasion with 21-gun salutes. In Lahore, a well-trained Pakistan Army unit conducted the 21-gun salute, with soldiers chanting “Takbeer, Allahu Akbar,” creating a powerful atmosphere.
Strict security arrangements were in place for the ceremony.
After Fajr prayers, special supplications were made for the promotion of Islam, unity, solidarity, progress, and the welfare of both Pakistan and the Muslim Ummah.
Processions to celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi (peace be upon him) are planned throughout the country.
