On the official instruction of caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab Mohsin Naqvi and IG Punjab, Lahore City Traffic Police (CTP) will make the licensing process easier for the general population. In the future, residents of the entire nation will be able to obtain a driving license in Lahore.

Thousands of ID holders from other districts and provinces will be able to use the license facilities from Lahore, according to Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Captain (retired) Mustansar Firoz. Lahore would also be able to provide licenses to foreign nationals from other nations, he added.

Before this, the capital of Punjab would only provide licenses to Lahore ID holders. Currently, candidates can visit any licensed facility with their National Identity Card (NIC) and a copy of a learner permit after 42 days to get a permanent license.

Liberty Market and Manawan Center will be open round-the-clock, every day of the week for the convenience of the public. Although the licensing services at Arfa Karim Testing Center, Greater Iqbal, Defense Center, and Bahria Town will continue to be available from 8:00 am to 12:00 am.

The government has also set up 23 license centers, 6 testing centers, and 3 mobile vans all across the city.
