Babar Azam Set to Join Bangladesh Premier League After New Zealand Series

Babar Azam, the former captain of Pakistan, is slated to join the Rangpur Riders for their second match in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) season, immediately following the conclusion of the ongoing 5-match T20I series between Pakistan and New Zealand.

Pakistan’s fourth T20I is scheduled for January 19, with the series concluding on January 21 at the Hagley Oval.

The BPL is set to kick off on January 19, and the Rangpur Riders will play their second match on January 23. Babar Azam, who faced a dip in form in recent months, made a strong comeback in the T20I series against New Zealand, scoring three half-centuries at an impressive strike rate despite Pakistan losing all three matches.

Babar Azam is set to feature in six matches during the group stage of the Bangladesh Premier League for the Rangpur Riders, aiming to captivate the audience in Bangladesh with his exceptional batting skills.

Following his stint in the BPL, Babar will lead the Peshawar Zalmi side in the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) starting on February 17. Peshawar Zalmi will kick off their PSL 9 campaign against Quetta Gladiators, aspiring to make a strong start in their quest for another title, with their last PSL trophy secured in 2017, nearly seven years ago.
