PSL 8: Naseem Shah fined for wearing ‘wrong helmet’

In the third match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Wednesday at the Multan Cricket Stadium, Naseem Shah of the Quetta Gladiators was penalized for donning the incorrect helmet.

For wearing the incorrect helmet during his team’s nine-wicket loss against the home team, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has fined Naseem 10% of the match fee.

According to the PCB’s Code of Conduct, the right-arm pacer has earned a penalty.

The star of the game, Ihsanullah, bowled Naseem, who was wearing the helmet of Comilla Victorians of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

Before to the PSL 8, the 20-year-old pacer had played for the team in the BPL 2023.

five-wicket haul and a brilliant 78-run effort from Rilee Rossouw helped the home team reach the mark in 13.3 overs after the Gladiators, who were put to bat first, were bowled out for a pitiful 110 runs.

To help the Sultans complete the task with the bat, impressive Rossouw scored his seventh fifty in the PSL in 33 balls. He hit 78 runs off just 42 balls, including three maximums and nine boundaries.

Ihsanullah, a 20-year-old bowler, however, had a big day as he help the Sultans dismiss the Gladiators for 110 by taking five wickets. Ihsanullah won in just his second match in his first PSL season because of his quick deliveries and back-to-back wickets. In his four overs, he took five wickets and gave up only 12 runs.
