PCB provides update on Naseem Shah, Ihsanullah, and Hasnain

An update on the three fast bowlers’ injuries, Ihsanullah, Mohammad Hasnain, and Naseem Shah, has been given by the Pakistan Cricket Board.

Ihsanullah

Ihsanullah got an elbow injury while playing for Pakistan in one ODI and four T20Is. Since playing for Pakistan in the ODI series against New Zealand at home in April of this year, the 20-year-old has been prohibited from playing for his country in international cricket.
In a Lahore private hospital, Ihsanullah had to have surgery. In the first week of September, a doctor was rushed in from England to perform surgery on Ihsanullah.

After the procedure, the fast bowler had to wear an elbow brace for four weeks while getting daily care from a doctor and a physical therapist.

The brace will be taken off at the conclusion of the fifth week because his condition is satisfactory. He will thereafter continue his recovery at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore.

Muhammad Hasnain

In August, Hasnain, 23, had an ankle injury while competing in the Sri Lanka Premier League. He took a flight from Sri Lanka to England and underwent an MRI. The fast bowler needs therapy for his ankle, which has been going on since September 13 in England, according to the scan results.

Naseem Shah

Naseem, 20, had an injury during the Asia Cup, excluding him from the ICC World Cup in 2023. The fast bowler underwent shoulder surgery earlier last week as a result of the injury. He was completely stable throughout the surgery and discharged from the hospital the next day.

Two physiotherapists will care for him during his recovery, first at the hospital and then at the practice facility and gym. He will be closely watched through the entire time, and the surgeon will check on him once again in the third week of October.
