PMDC Announces MDCAT 2023 Exam date

The National Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) will be conducted on August 27, 2023, according to the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC). President Dr. Rizwan Taj took over the second council meeting of the PMDC, where the decision was taken. Important topics such as the syllabus and MDCAT 2023 registration were discussed at the meeting. The PMDC has decided that the MDCAT exam for 2023 will be based on the syllabus from the previous year, and the council has also given all provincial secretaries orders to begin the MDCAT exam preparation process. In contrast to last year, when about 204.529 pupils took the exam, it is expected that 210,000 students will take the yearly test this year. To guarantee the confidentiality of the MDCAT 2023 exams, the council has emphasized the importance of including every stakeholder.

In addition, it was decided that NUMS would be the university in charge of admission in all medical and dental schools run by the armed services and that the NUMs admission test would rank equally with the national MDCAT.

To guarantee that provinces give exams without causing students any hardship, the council has also discussed the issue of taking into account the MDCAT paper difficulty index without compromising merit.
