The Hyundai Ioniq 7, a three-row midsize crossover built on the E-GMP platform of the Kia EV9, will be the company’s flagship electric SUV. According to spy photos, the new SUV looks similar to its Kia cousin and concept cars from the previous year. The fascia covers imply a different front and back design yet the body and roofline resemble the EV9.
The Ioniq 7 offers “a completely new dimension of space,” in the words of Hyundai, thanks to its flat floor, lofty canopy, and 126-inch wheelbase. There are at least three drivetrain options available thanks to the Kia EV9 platform, including single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive.

Like other Hyundai and Kia EVs built on the E-GMP platform, the Ioniq 7 will offer 800V quick charging. The production car will have a 100-kilowatt-hour battery with a 300-mile range and 308 horsepower.
By 2025, Hyundai will invest $7.4 billion in the US EV industry. The company has dramatically increased EV production since the Ioniq 5 and Ionic 6 went on sale last year. A late autumn or early 2024 debut for Ionic 7 is possible.
