Babar Azam Retains the Title of King of All Formats

After a recent ICC rankings update, Pakistan’s best batsman, Babar Azam, is now the only player to be in the Top 5 ICC Batter rankings across all formats.

Azam is much ahead of India’s Shubman Gill (801 rating points) and third-ranked Virat Kohli (768 rating points) in the ODI rankings (824 rating points).

Superstar Kiwi Kane Williamson ranks first in the Test rankings with 883 rating points, while Azam is comfortably ranked fifth with 768 rating points.

In the T20I rankings, Azam’s colleague Muhammad Rizwan is ranked third with 800 rating points, while he is rated fourth with 764 rating points.

With 861 rating points, Suryakumar Yadav, the rising star of India, is ranked #1 in the T20I rankings.

Through his steady performances in many sports genres, Babar Azam has established himself as an important player in the sport.

In the 2021 T20 World Cup, he and Rizwan are renowned for being able to chase down goals of 150 or more against India without losing a wicket.

Supporters of the green squad appreciate Azam’s century during the 2019 Cricket World Cup chase against New Zealand, as it solidified his legacy.

The batter from Lahore had an awful year in 2023 since he was unable to lead his team to victory in either the Asia Cup or the CWC. Although the previous PCB management, led by Zaka Ashraf, replaced him as the all-format captain, he is still a top-order batsman.
