Pakistan has qualified for the tournament finals for the third time in a row and for the seventh time overall after defeating Malaysia 6-2 in the Junior Asia Cup in Oman on Wednesday. The Green Shirts are set to face India in the final (June 1). Earlier today, India defeated Korea 9-1 in the first semi-final.
In the 44th minute, Rahman gave Pakistan the lead, but Malaysia quickly matched the score. In the 47th minute, Abdul Hannan Shahid scored a field goal to give Pakistan the lead once more. Abdul Rehman added field goals in the 48th and 51st minutes to extend Pakistan’s lead.
Arbaaz Ahmed scored the game’s final goal in the 58th minute to give Pakistan a six-goal advantage. India and Pakistan, the two competitors for the championship, have each gone unbeaten so far. In the 2015 event final between the two teams, which took place in Malaysia, India defeated Pakistan 6-2 for the victory.
