The annual Urs (death anniversary) of Data Ganj Bakhsh Syed Ali Hajwari (RA) will be observed in Lahore on September 7 (Thursday), according to temporary Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

CM Naqvi announced that the three-day Urs celebration will start on Tuesday (tomorrow) during his visit to Data Darbar.

The chief minister continued, “We are trying to improve arrangements for the event, which will last for three days, from Tuesday to Thursday.”

He said that plans will be made for mehfil-e-samaa, where the top qawwals will perform, saying “We also held a meeting with the commissioner about the langar khana so that everyone who attends the celebration can eat.”

CM Naqvi reaffirmed that the ideal preparations will be made for the Chehlum, processions, and Urs.

The chief minister addressed the issue of traffic and stated that an approach was in place and that parking facilities would be offered after the security situation was resolved.

The grounds of the mosques and shrine will also be extended, and work will shortly begin on the Data Darbar expansion.
