Metro Bus Tracks in Lahore and Rawalpindi Are Finally Getting Fixed

The Punjab Masstransit Authority (PMA) has recently decided to address the deteriorated tracks of the Lahore and Rawalpindi metro buses.

Following reports in the media, officials convened an urgent meeting and resolved to promptly commence asphalt and carpeting work.

In a statement to a local media outlet, a PMA officer announced that the authority is set to begin the asphalt work soon to restore the tracks of both the Lahore and Rawalpindi metro bus projects.

The official disclosed that the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) will be entrusted with the task of refurbishing the 27 km track in Lahore, while the Rawalpindi Development Authority will oversee the work in the garrison city.

Additionally, the official shared that the Lahore metro bus project has not undergone significant maintenance work since its inception in February 2013, aside from minor patchwork and concreting. Stressing the importance of safety and a smoother metro bus journey, the official highlighted that the upcoming asphalt and maintenance efforts are aimed at achieving these goals.
