FBR reverses decision to transfer senior customs officials

Four senior customs employees, including the Director General of the Directorate General of Intelligence & Investigation, have had their transfer and posting notices withdrawn by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

The original letter on March 27 has been withdrawn, according to a notification from the FBR released on Tuesday (Monday). The new notification stated that the transfer/posting order made according to Board’s Notification No.0779-C-I/2023 dated 27.03.2023, is hereby canceled ab initio.

All four of the mentioned senior customs officials would continue to perform their existing duties following the issue of the revised notification.

According to a previous announcement, Faiz Ahmad, Director General of the Directorate General of Intelligence & Investigation Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), received a new assignment as Director General of the Directorate General of Intellectual Property Rights (Enforcement), located in Islamabad.

Syed Shakeel Shah, the Director General of the Pakistan Customs Service’s (OPS) Directorate General of Reforms and Automation (Customs), Islamabad, received a new job as the Director General of the FBR’s Directorate General of Intelligence & Investigation, Islamabad.

Muhammad Sadiq (Pakistan Customs Service/BS-21), Director General, Directorate General of IPR (Enforcement), Islamabad, was transferred and posted as Deputy Director General, Directorate General of National Nuclear Detection Architecture (NNDA), Islamabad.

Deputy Director General of the National Nuclear Detection Architecture (NNDA), Muhammad Junaid Jalil Khan (Pakistan Customs Service/BS-21), was assigned a new position as Director General of Reforms & Automation (Customs), Islamabad.
