How is the net run rate determined?

For example, a score of 300 off 50 overs is six runs per over. Run rate is the average number of runs scored per over by a team in their whole innings.

The opposition’s run rate is subtracted from the other team’s run rate to determine the net run rate.

Therefore, the winning team will have a positive net run rate, while the losing team will have a negative net run rate.

In a tournament, the average runs per over scored by a team in each match is deducted from the average runs per over scored against that team in each matchto calculate the net run rate.

If a team is bowled out before completing their allotted overs, the run rate is determined by dividing the runs by the maximum number of overs that they could have batted, which in this competition was 50 overs.
