More rains forecast for Lahore, Punjab

The provincial capital of LAHORE is expected to have additional monsoon rains over the next few days, with various intensities, according to the meteorological agency.

The synoptic condition indicates that the majority of the nation is being affected by monsoon currents coming from the Bay of Bengal. The upper and central regions of the nation are also being affected by a westerly wave.

Under the influence of the prevailing weather conditions, more rain-wind/thundershower is expected in Murree, Galliyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Sargodha, Mianwali, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Bahawalnagar, Narowal, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Lahore, Bhakkar, Layyah, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Rajanpur, Taunsa, Multan and Dera Ghazi Khan during Saturday evening/night.

Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, Gujranwala, Jhelum, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Okara, Bahawalnagar, and Dera Ghazi Khan are also likely to see significant rainfall during this time.

On Sunday, rain-wind/thundershower is anticipated in Murree, Galliyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Sargodha, Mianwali, Faisalabad, Bahawalnagar, Narowal, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Lahore, Bhakkar, Layyah, Sahiwal, Multan and Dera Ghazi Khan. Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, and Gujranwala are all predicted to get significant rainfall. Significant monsoon rains, which resulted in urban flooding, severe traffic jams, and frequent blackouts, put a stop to activity in big towns like Lahore.

In Lahore, brief but intense downpours inundated most of the neighborhoods’ streets and roads in knee-deep water.

Like the previous rainy days, even hours after the rain stopped, the “premier sanitation agency” WASA failed to remove flooded rainwater from various localities.

Due to this, up until the time of this report’s filing, several city streets and roads displayed images of lakes and ponds. Due to flooding rains and slick conditions, there were severe traffic bottlenecks all across the city.

Numerous LESCO feeders were tripped as a result of the wet spell and strong winds, depriving residents in numerous communities of electricity. Water shortages in several metropolitan locations were also brought on by power outages.

However, monsoon rains and strong breezes made the weather pleasant by significantly lowering the day’s temperature.
