The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has launched free Wi-Fi services across more than 200 locations in Lahore and 11 districts of Punjab, as reported by News.
The initiative includes 270 Wi-Fi hotspots, offering internet access in major cities such as Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Sialkot, Gujrat, Jhelum, Attock, Sahiwal, Okara, and Murree.
A PSCA spokesperson revealed that over 13 million users have already consumed more than 265 terabytes of data through the service.
The free Wi-Fi program aims to enhance daily life by providing residents with easy access to the internet.
The service is specifically designed for practical use and not intended for video streaming or entertainment purposes, the spokesperson clarified.
This initiative aligns with the chief minister’s vision of transforming Punjab into a digital province.
The spokesperson further stated, “The free Wi-Fi initiative is part of broader efforts to digitize Punjab and provide modern facilities to its citizens.”
