After Samsung, iPhone 16 Will Also Get Generative AI in 2024

Apple is taking an organized approach to creating iOS 18, and a recent report by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg states that the soon-to-be-released iPhone 16 generation will highlight unique generative AI features as its main selling elements.

Although the study doesn’t go into great depth about how these AI features work, they may work similarly to features like text-to-image generation, document short, and content translation that are available on Google and Samsung.

In addition, there are reports that Apple plans to use its exclusive LLM model to redevelop Siri.

It is expected that Apple will not make any significant physical modifications to the iPhone 16 series, instead emphasizing the new AI features as the main selling factors of these next devices. The iPhone 16 series is expected to launch with the Apple A18 chip in all four variants.

Like its competitors, the Dimensity 9300 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the Apple A18 will also have hardware that can run generative AI algorithms on the device.

It will also probably have improved gaming hardware, considering the A17 Pro is mainly intended to handle AAA games from current markets.

Like the dedicated camera button on Sony Xperia phones, the Pro models are believed to have a new Capture Button on the right side next to the power button.

More rumors indicate that the Dynamic Island will be smaller and that the 16 Pro model will have an optical zoom camera with a 5x zoom.

While there have been varying rumors that the iPhone will be doing away with Dynamic Island in favor of a traditional punch-hole cutout, it is unlikely that Apple will remove significant features so soon after they are introduced.
