UAE Warn Travelers About Sharing Vacation Photos on Social Media

The Public Prosecution in the UAE has issued a warning to passengers not to post their trip details or pictures on social media. A resident’s home was broken into after he posted pictures from his trip on social media.

It went on to say that using social media to stay in touch with loved ones can be a very excellent idea. However, it can seriously endanger a person if it is exploited or if personal information is routinely shared.

From February 13 to 17, schools in the UAE will be closed. Families now get a 9-day vacation that includes weekends. Authorities are worried that tourists may be encouraged to broadcast their travel plans and images on social media, leaving them open to theft.

Many people take pleasure in displaying their first- or business-class tickets online and publishing pictures of their boarding cards. They are unaware that attackers could obtain their personal information.
