Shoaib Akhtar criticizes ICC for leaving Babar Azam from the World Cup promo

For the ODI World Cup 2023, which will start on October 5 in India, the International Cricket Council has posted the official promo on all social media sites.

In a 2-minute and 13-second video that ICC released, the theme is “All it takes one day.” Shahrukh Khan’s voice is used to convey the beautiful montage of memorable pictures from previous World Cup matches.

Babar Azam, the Pakistani captain, and the top ODI batsman, did not appear in the promo, according to everyone’s expectations. Furthermore, Pakistan, which is now ranked as the second-greatest ODI side on the ICC statistics, hardly showed in the video.

Shoaib Akhtar, a former Pakistani bowler noted for his candor, didn’t hold back when expressing his displeasure in one of his tweets.

The ex-cricketer crashed the promo and questioned the justification behind leaving out Babar Azam, who is undoubtedly one of the greatest batters in current cricket.

The Pakistani left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi‘s famous World Cup 2019 wicket celebration is one of the images used in the video.

At the end of the video, Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan makes an appearance with the famous World Cup trophy and declares, “For everything ever dreamed for, pushed for, lived for, it takes one day.”
