Shaheen Shah Afridi, the captain of the Lahore Qalandars, has been in the limelight since his team’s victory in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season eight yesterday (Saturday).

Fans were distracted by a photo of Shaheen and his wife, Ansha Afridi, while they were still reeling from the thrilling final between the Qalandars and Multan Sultans. In the Gaddafi Stadium, where the Qalandars became the first team to win back-to-back PSL titles, the husband and wife can be seen taking pictures with the PSL 8 trophy.

Fans believed that Ansha’s presence during the final game was the reason Shaheen was playing so well, however, some online users asserted that the images circulating on social media were actually of Ansha’s older sister Aqsa Afridi.

Aqsa’s picture from the stadium went popular on Twitter after she was seen supporting Shaheen after he scored several boundaries, leading some fans to confuse her with Ansha because the two sisters have similar facial features.

On February 3, the star pacer Shaheen got solemnized with Ansha at a local mosque in Karachi after being engaged for two years.

A run-out had to be made at the bowler’s end because Multan’s Khushdil Shah attempted to make a third run to force a super over the day before. Khushdil Shah had taken 4-51 after hitting a quick 44 not out during the final.

Before an excited 25,000 spectators at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, the Qalandars had scored 200-6 in their 20 overs, while the Sultans had finished on 199-8.

In the final from the previous year, the Qalandars had also defeated the Sultans. The Sultans raced to 101-1 in just 10 overs as Shaheen let up 34 runs in his first two overs.
