Pakistan announced its U19 World Cup squad

On Saturday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) disclosed the roster for the upcoming ICC U19 World Cup scheduled for January 19 to February 11, 2024, in South Africa.

Saad Baig has been appointed as the captain to lead the 15-member Pakistan U19 squad for the tournament. Ali Asfand and Mohammad Zeeshan have also secured spots in the squad, having previously represented Pakistan in the U19 World Cup in 2022 held in West Indies.

Sohail Tanvir, Chairman of the Junior Selection Committee, conveyed his congratulations to the selected players, expressing confidence in the squad’s well-rounded abilities to perform effectively in the World Cup.

Tanvir noted that the selection process took into account the playing conditions in South Africa, emphasizing the need for a balanced team capable of adapting to the pace-friendly pitches.

Pakistan U19 squad

The Pakistan U19 squad includes Saad Baig as captain and wicketkeeper, with Ali Asfand serving as vice-captain. Other team members are Ali Raza, Ahmad Hassan, Amir Hassan, Arfat Minhas, Azan Awais, Haroon Arshad, Khubaib Khalil, Mohammad Zeeshan, Naveed Ahmed Khan, Shahzaib Khan, Shamyl Hussain, Muhammad Riazullah, and Ubaid Shah.

The Support staff

The support staff for the team comprises Shoaib Mohammad (Team Manager), Mohammad Yousaf (Head Coach), Rehan Riaz (Bowling Coach), Mansoor Amjad (Fielding Coach), Muhammad Masroor (Assistant Batting Coach), Umer Rashid Dar (Assistant Coach), Hafiz Naeem Ul Rasul (Team Physio), Usman Hashmi (Team Analyst), and Imran Ullah (Strength & Conditioning Coach).

A training camp for the selected players is scheduled to take place from December 28, 2023, to January 6, 2024, in Lahore, where the squad will prepare for the upcoming U19 World Cup.
