E-Passports Expand Over the Country With New Fees

The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports is implementing e-passports at all passport offices in Pakistan following the successful rollout of e-passports in Islamabad.

They were initially only available to embassies and government employees when they were introduced in the federal capital this June. However, once former Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah made the statement, the option was made available to all inhabitants of Islamabad and then to people throughout the country.

Last month, the directorate proudly announced on Twitter that the first-ever passport obtained through the Inland Online Application process had been properly printed and shipped.

Please be aware that the usual passport fee structure does not alter under the new schedule.

On August 16th, these new prices went into effect, ushering in a revolution of Pakistan’s passport services and a sizable step toward the digitalization of administrative procedures.
