The Maldives Velana Airport had to be closed on Tuesday due to an incident involving a Flydubai flight.

Rear tires broke while Flydubai’s FZ1569 flight from Dubai to Male, the capital of the Maldives, was attempting to land.

According to an article in the Aviation Herald, the Boeing 737-9 MAX was headed to the Maldives when it “landed on Male’s runway 36 when both right-hand and main tires ruptured. Without additional incident, the aircraft rolled out, stopped a stop on the runway, and was disabled.
