PCB ready to bear a loss of $3 million in case of Asia Cup boycott

Najam Sethi, the chairman of the executive committee for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has disclosed the probable financial costs of boycotting the 2023 World Cup and the 2023 Asia Cup.

We will suffer a $3 million loss if we choose not to compete in the Asia Cup. Our connections with the ICC will deteriorate if we boycott or do not participate in the World Cup.  The World Cup match between Pakistan and India is also very significant. In an interview with a local TV station, Sethi predicted that there would be problems.

The International Cricket Council’s financial support was a major source of revenue for PCB in the past. (ICC). The PCB’s financial condition has, however, changed significantly as a result of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

In terms of money, in the past PCB was reliant on funding from ICC, thus we were forced to abide by their terms, in my opinion. PSL has now, however, given PCB financial independence. The amount we receive from PSL and ICC is the same. To maintain our image and political stance, we have determined that we are willing to suffer a $3 million loss,” Sethi said.

Sethi agreed that Pakistani fans do not want India to play host to the Men in Green if India does not do the identical thing for Pakistan.

“I understand that if India doesn’t visit Pakistan, people won’t want us to visit India. He added that people want us to be assertive and refuse to follow orders want us to be assertive and refuse to follow orders he added.
