Fakhar Zaman announces his PSL 9 team

Because of the upcoming ninth Pakistan Super League (PSL), Fakhar Zaman has disclosed whether he will play for Lahore Qalandars.

Ahead of this December 13th, 2024 HBL PSL Player Draft at National Cricket Academy, Lahore, all six teams have finished their trades and player retentions.

The defending champions and champions of the last two seasons, Lahore Qalandars, have kept their skipper, Shaheen Shah Afridi, in the Platinum category.

As the team’s brand ambassador, Haris Rauf is classified as a Diamond player. An important player, Sikandar Raza, has been kept in the Gold group, and Rashid Khan, the second-ranked T20I bowler, has been kept in the Silver category, albeit his availability is uncertain because of an injury.

Mirza Tahir Baig has been kept in the Silver category after his appeal for relegation was approved. Surprisingly, surprising that the squad did not retain the services of seasoned starter Fakhar Zaman despite these recent additions.

In an exclusive interview with Cricket Pakistan, Fakhar addressed the situation, saying, “They have just released me [as a formality], but I will continue to play for Lahore [Qalandars].”

Note that each of the six clubs has the Right to Match Card during the draft, which allows them to retrieve any player cut from their roster by established procedures.

Furthermore, Fakhar Zaman disclosed that his manager is in charge of his social media accounts.

Lahore Qalandars:

Mirza Tahir Baig (successfully requested demotion), Rashid Khan (both Silver), Sikandar Raza, Abdullah Shafique, Zaman Khan, and Haris Rauf (Brand Ambassador) (both Diamond), Shaheen Shah Afridi (Platinum), and David Wiese (all Gold).
