Apple will launch a more expensive iPhone "Ultra" next year

According to source Mark Gurman, Apple is considering releasing a new, more expensive iPhone model called “Ultra” that would sit above the current iPhone Pro and Pro Max models.

The device is anticipated to have top-notch features and specifications and might launch as part of the iPhone 16 lineup as early as 2024.

In September, Gurman predicted that the “Ultra” model might replace the Pro Max label on the iPhone 15 predicted that the “Ultra” model might replace the Pro Max label on the iPhone 15 in September. His most recent thought is that Apple will soon release a stronger, more expensive line of iPhones, maybe costing more than the $1,099 iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, suggested potential future price increases for the iPhone during last week’s earnings call. He said that customers might be prepared to pay extra for a better product might be prepared to pay extra for a better product, he said.

People’s lives have become so ingrained with the iPhone. I believe that individuals are eager to spend as much money as possible to purchase the best product in that category.

The “Ultra” device’s potential features are yet unknown. Gurman theorizes that the device might include a larger screen, a more potent CPU, and improved camera capabilities.

It’s also possible that Apple will remove the charging connector and switch to wireless charging, moving a step closer to its envisioned wireless future.

Gurman noted that by including top-notch features in its Pro and Pro Max models, Apple has already encouraged customers to upgrade. Dynamic Island was made limited to the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max the year before.

Gurman claims that with the release of the iPhone 15 this year, Apple hopes to further differentiate the tiers.

There are also rumors claiming that the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max will include USB-C ports and that the traditional volume and power buttons will be replaced by haptic ones.

Further highlighting the differences between each model, the iPhone 15 Pro Max may be the only handset to come equipped with a periscope lens with enhanced optical zoom.
