The Departments of School Education (SED) and Higher Education (HED) have extended the winter vacation for all public and private schools in Punjab holiday-extending development complies with the holiday-extending ruling issued by the Lahore High Court (LHC).
The winter break will now run until January 9, 2024, as per the announcements by the SED and HED. The old schedule, which had placed the winter holidays from December 18 to December 31, is superseded by this extension.
On Wednesday, January 10, 2024, all public and private schools and colleges are required to reopen according to the revised schedule.
Every student will begin a full and normal school week on the first day of regular sessions again.
Students will be happy with the extended vacation, but it’s essential to keep in mind that some COVID-19 security measures will still be in place. The SED notification makes it clear that there will be no changes made to the ban on face masks on school property. The goal of this preventative step is to ensure the staff’s and students’ safety and well-being.
It has been clearly ordered that the Chief Executive Officers of the District Education Authorities (DEAs) in each district make sure that these instructions are strictly followed.
The decision to extend the winter vacation are consistent with the recent decision of the Lahore High Court, which considered the current situation.
