This opening occurs as Syed Junaid Imam, the current Member of IT, approaches the conclusion of his term in January 2025. Imam was appointed in 2019 and was given two-year extensions in 2021, followed by three-month extensions. The ministry created and put into effect a number of important policies during his term, however, there are still issues with increasing IT exports. In order to maintain continuity until the new appointment, officials highlighted his critical role in developing the nation’s IT ecosystem.
