As of Monday night, 20,170 applications had been submitted to the Ministry of Religious Affairs under the government’s standard Hajj program.
Meezan Bank leads the field with 4,143 applications, followed by Muslim Commercial Bank with 4,063 and United Bank Limited with 3,855. Fifteen institutions around the country are processing applications.
89,605 seats, including 5,000 under the sponsorship limit, have been allotted by the government for the regular Hajj program. This quota applies to 198 of the total applications that have been received thus far.
A deposit of Rs. 200,000 must be made by applicants with their applications.
Although the government may extend the deadline, applications for the Hajj will be accepted until December 3. A total of 1,995 applications were submitted on the first submission day. 4,389 people filed their Hajj applications on November 25.
