In Punjab, KP, and Islamabad, the PTI’s protest on November 24 has led to partial mobile and internet disruptions.

In the case of the PTI protest on November 24, the federal government has chosen to partially suspend internet and mobile services in Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Punjab, according to Express News on Thursday.

Workers and leaders from all over the nation will likely participate in the nationwide protest that PTI has called for in Islamabad. To keep the situation under control, the administration has already started implementing stringent procedures.

Containers have been placed in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, and Section 144 has been enforced in the twin towns in an attempt to stop the PTI protest. To prevent PTI from staging a power show, local authorities are getting ready to take additional measures, and heavy security forces have been mobilized.

According to sources, some districts in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad may see partial suspensions of mobile phone and internet services as early as November 23.

Separately, a firewall has been set by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to limit access to social media content, including audio and video, and slow down internet services.

The PTA noted, meanwhile, that no formal instructions related to an across the state internet shutdown have been made. Authorities might cancel services at particular sites based on developments, and the situation is still dynamic.

The PTI leadership has made it clear that they will not stop protesting unless their demands are met. According to sources, PTI and the government are negotiating behind closed doors to stop the protest from getting worse.

Azma Bokhari, the Punjab Information Minister, has threatened severe action, saying the government will deal with demonstrators the same way it would with terrorists. Regardless of PTI’s tactics, she underlined, the state has all the resources it needs to handle the problem.

Section 144 has been enforced, 4,500 police have been sent in, and important highways have been blocked with containers ahead of the PTI’s demonstration on November 24. To avoid disturbances, more than 47 areas—including those close to Adiala Jail—will be blocked. Up until November 26, security will continue to be tight.
